After welcoming his youngest child last year, Al Pacino is enjoying watching son Roman reach life’s little milestones.
“He’s come into the world a little more now. He’s learning things,” the 84-year-old told The New York Times in an interview published on Oct. 5.
One day, Roman will have the opportunity to read his father’s memoir, “Sonny Boy.” According to the star, his son partially inspired him to write down his story in his own words.
“That’s one of the reasons, of course. And that has been a campaign for me to stick around a little longer if it’s possible,” he said.
In addition to Roman, the “Scarface” actor has three adult children.
Al Pacino opened up about his duties as a father in an interview with The New Yorker in 2014, reflecting on his relationship with his own dad, who left his family when he was only 2 years old.
“I consciously knew that I didn’t want to be like my dad,” he said at the time. “I wanted to be there.
He continued, “I’m responsible to them. I’m a part of their life. When I’m not, it’s upsetting to me and to them. So that’s part of the gestalt.”

Julie Pacino
Al Pacino’s first child, Julie Pacino, was born in 1989. Her mother, Jan Tarrant, is an acting coach.
“I was always raised with perspective, and my mom always kept me in check and made sure that I never felt entitled or that I deserved anything because of something that my father did,” Julie Pacino told the New York Post in an interview.
Julie Pacino was drawn to filmmaking at a young age. She said her parents gave her a camcorder, which she would use to direct her friends in “fake Snapple commercials” and spoofs of her dad’s movies. She said for a birthday, she gave him a movie called, “Not Another Al Pacino Movie.”
After graduating high school, Julie Pacino went to UCLA to play softball, per the UCLA Bruins’ website, then studied film. She met the co-founder of her production company, Poverty Row Entertainment, at the New York Film Academy, and started the production company Tiny Apples in 2020.
She earned the award for best female director at the 2020 Venice Shorts Film Festival.
Anton and Olivia Pacino
In January 2001, Al Pacino welcomed twins Anton and Olivia Pacino with his then-girlfriend Beverly D’Angelo.
D’Angelo took to Instagram in 2023 to share details about her journey to motherhood with Al Pacino and said they began in vitro fertilization treatments in 1997. Although the couple split in 2004, she said their love and respect for each other never waned.
“The power of our love for our children was the basis for resolving any conflicts and creating a new history as co-parents, leading an individual life separately but always intertwined as a family,” she said.
While D’Angelo said in her post at the time that Anton Pacino isn’t a fan of social media, Al Pacino previously spoke about his then-young son in a 2014 interview with the New Yorker. During the interview, the actor showed off a painting of his son’s.
“My son painted this when he was 4. ‘New York in the Fall,’” he told the interviewer.
Olivia Pacino, however, is quite active on Instagram. In 2021, Olivia Pacino wished her dad a happy birthday on the social media platform, sharing two photos of them together over the years.
“Happy 81st to not only my inspiration but my best friend and the the best father I could ever ask for I love you,” she captioned the post.
In 2024, she celebrated his 84th birthday by sharing a series of throwback photos on Instagram and calling her father “the person I forever look up to” and “such an amazing dad.”
Roman Pacino
Al Pacino shares son Roman, who was born in 2023, with film producer Noor Alfallah.
Rumors about Al Pacino and Alfallah’s romance began in April 2022 after they were photographed getting dinner together in Venice, California, E! News reported at the time. Before she started dating Al Pacino, Alfallah was previously linked to Mick Jagger from 2017 to 2018, per E! News.
In May 2023, Al Pacino’s rep confirmed that Alfallah was eight months pregnant. A month later, NBC News confirmed that the couple had welcomed a son.
In August 2023, Alfallah shared a snap of her son on her Instagram, captioning it: “My whole heart and the greatest blessing in my life. Roman.” She also added a red heart emoji.
Three months later, Al Pacino and Noor Alfallah reached a custody and child support agreement for their son. Per court documents obtained by TODAY.com, the parents share joint legal custody of Roman and agreed to “consult with one another on all major decisions relating to Roman’s health, education, and welfare.”
Alfallah was granted physical custody of Roman with “reasonable right of parenting time (visitation)” given to Al Pacino.
In March 2024, Alfallah told Vogue Arabia becoming a mother to Roman was “the greatest gift from God.”
“Every day I look at him, I just know I’m so blessed,” she said.
While talking about her son’s rich heritage (she’s Arab-American and Al Pacino is Italian), the film producer made some predictions about her son’s future.
