‘Hidden gem’ holiday destination with ‘turquoise sea’ is just 30 mins from Benidorm

Holidaymakers have been encouraged to explore a “coastal gem” just a short 30-minute drive from .

If you’re considering a to the but want something more tranquil than Benidorm’s vibrant nightlife, the quaint town of Moraira could be your ideal destination.

Local ‘Benidorm by Ana’ labelled Moraira as a “must visit” and “charming” location that is already a hit with Brits, yet never feels too crowded. In a recent video, she guided viewers on a tour of the town.

Starting her tour on the beach, she described it as “a pristine stretch of truly golden sand”.

She went on: “There’s always a spot here right by the seashore, even in peak summer months. The beach is famous for its calm waters, making it ideal for families and water sports enthusiasts. With numerous beach bars and restaurants, it’s the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.”

Ana also highlighted the small villas along the beach that can be rented, allowing visitors to wake up and step directly onto the sand.

She also guided viewers through the beach bars and restaurants, reassuring them: “Prices here are also quite moderate so don’t worry, it’s not going to cost you a fortune.”

Ana went on to visit Moraira’s free-to-enter castle, located adjacent to the beach. She described it as “perfect” for history buffs.

The castle boasts a four-star rating on TripAdvisor, based on 159 reviews. One reads: “The Castillo is a lovely spot in Moraira. The castle is only small but it is right by the beach and lots of bars and restaurants so a nice view of the sea at sunrise or sunset.”

Wrapping up her tour of Moraira, Ana enthused: “[It is] definitely worth considering for a lovely weekend [or a] one day getaway. Try out some incredible food, get a boat trip, just have a lovely walk and get to know its history!”

Ana’s video sparked a flurry of comments, with one viewer pleading with her to keep the location under wraps. They wrote: “Please remove this video immediately, this is the Costa Blanca’s best kept secret.”

Another chimed in: “Moraira looks lovely, seems like a tranquil place and what a lovely beach. If it’s easy to travel to from Benidorm, I may visit for the day.”
