Royals may not need to update their Linkedin profiles in search of new employment but it doesn’t mean they don’t have dreams and ambitions of their own.

The eldest children of the Prince and have shown that they have careers in mind already, though being royals itself may prove to be a full-time job.

Prince George, who is set to be King after William passes on the throne, has expressed interest in joining the police. Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte has said she wants to be a nurse.

And it might not be a pipe dream either, as the royals before them have held ordinary jobs before taking on more official duties, including their parents and Princess Kate.

The Prince of Wales served in the Royal Air Force before going on to work as a pilot for East Anglian Air Ambulance, while Princess Kate, also 42, worked part-time at high-street retailer Jigsaw after graduating from university.

George and Charlotte’s uncle , 40, also served in the army for 10 years, while Queen Camilla previously worked as a receptionist and secretary.

previously revealed that George is “fascinated” with police while attending a reception at Kensington Palace in 2018, saying: “George is obsessed, actually, by the police… cars, toys, everything.”.

While at the event, police commissioner Jayne Richardson explained to William how more officers were needed in the area, before jokingly adding: “We are recruiting, actually, so if George and Charlotte are keen?”

has also shared George’s fascination with police in the past. During a trip to the Finnish capital Helsinki in 2017, he gave Santa Claus a letter penned by his son where George had just one present on his list – a police car.

Meanwhile, George’s younger sister Princess Charlotte said she is interested in becoming a nurse, after dad-of-three William explained to the children all of the work NHS staff do.

According to , Palace insiders explained how Charlotte had told her parents that she hoped to become a nurse in the future.

The insider said: “She’s obviously just a little kid but still, Will and Kate swelled with pride. She’s such a caring little girl who also knows what she wants, so they wouldn’t be surprised if she does take on nursing as one of her big causes when she’s older.”
