Prince William showed his true colours with genius response to aggressive footballer

It is well known that is a huge football fan.

, he is regularly in attendance at high-profile games and was on hand to give out medals to the triumphant Lionesses in 2022.

But he does not merely watch the game, with the prince also a big fan of playing 5-a-side when able to slot a game into his hectic schedule.

It must be quite the sight to see the future King of England lacing up his boots for a match and it is fair to say that some members of the opposition take it better than others.

Ex England footballer took the opportunity to ask William the question everybody wants to know, how do people playing against him treat his royal highness?

Speaking on the ballers reloaded podcast, the former striker shared an hilarious anecdote of how people react to the prince and more importantly, how William responds.

Crouch said: “He does play on a Thursday, so I asked him what’s it like for people playing against the future king?

“Do they go through you? Do they give you a bit of space? What is it like?”

It is fair to say that Crouch was not fully expecting William’s response.

According to Crouch, the prince responded: “There was one lad that kept going through me every week, so I thought somehow I need to get this fella back.”

When asked what he did to settle the score, William’s response left Crouch speechless and in hysterics.

Crouch continued: “So he said the next week I got all my security team to get laser pens.

“He went in on me and all the team were pinging him with red dots all over his chest.”

According to Crouch, the trick had the desired effect, momentarily convincing the offending player that he was now in the sights of several high-powered rifles.

The prince is said to have eased the tension and his opponents dismay by joking: “I bet you won’t do that again will you?”
