Bruce Springsteen Adds Pointed Twist To His Kamala Harris Endorsement

Rock god Bruce Springsteen worded his endorsement of Kamala Harris for president just a bit differently on Thursday. (Watch the clip below.)

In a video he shared on Instagram, the “Born to Run” singer said, “I’m supporting Kamala Harris for president and Tim Walz for vice president and opposing Donald Trump and JD Vance.”

Leave it to The Boss to add a line of protest to his declaration.

Springsteen delivered his folksy address in a diner, calling the election one of the most “consequential” in history.

“Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually and emotionally divided as it does than at this moment,” Springsteen said. “It doesn’t have to be this way.”

The 20-time Grammy winner likened the Democratic ticket’s outlook to his own.

“Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view or sexual identity,” he said. “That’s the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years.”

He called Trump “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime,” noting “his disdain for the sanctity of our constitution” should disqualify him from the office. “He doesn’t understand the meaning of this country, its history or what it means to be deeply American.”

The singer’s Democratic allegiance was to be expected. He narrated a 2020 campaign ad for eventual winner Joe Biden, hosted a podcast with former President Barack Obama in 2021 and expressed his disdain for Trump and other prominent Republicans in a 2021 appearance on “The Late Show.”

“Do you want Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Ron DeSantis and our ex-fearless leader deciding the fate of the American experiment?” he asked host Stephen Colbert.
