Meghan Markle was praised by one of her former co-stars
“crushed” her audition with Patrick J. Adams and that sealed her success in , her co-star said.
The Duchess of Sussex of the hugely successful show which ran from 2011 to 2019.
But she left in 2018 after getting married to and moving to Britain.
Now her former co-star, who played Mike Ross – Meghan’s love interest in the show – said that his and Meghan’s chemistry read made it “pretty clear that she was gonna get the part”.
A chemistry read is part of the final round of auditions, where two actors get together and reenact a scene so the casting director can see how they connect and work with each other.

Mr Adams revealed that there was a reason they were both comfortable during the audition.
He told Sidebar: A Suits Watch Podcast: “So, Meghan and I had done a pilot before—a terrible, terrible pilot together (2008’s Good Behavior).
“There was a setting up of a romantic relationship in the pilot of that particular pilot too.
“And then we never saw each other again, the pilot failed, it was terrible, and it went away. And so we had never seen each other nor spoken to each other again.”
The actor explained that he auditioned to play Mike in the legal drama, got the part and then went on to act in a scene with those for the role of Rachel Zane.

He said: “So, when I went in to do the chemistry reads with Rachel, she [Meghan] was right there,” he said. “And she said ‘hi.’ And I went, ‘oh my god, so good to see you.’
“I think just knowing each other and getting to calm down and not have those nerves of just getting to know one another really helped that chemistry read.
“And it was just pretty clear that we had an easygoing thing when we went into that room. And it was pretty clear that she was gonna get the part from the minute we did the chemistry read. It was just so much easier than it was with anybody else.”
Sarah Rafferty, who played Donna in the show and co-hosts the podcast, added that the chemistry read was “a bear of an audition scene” as they both watched the show’s pilot.
Mr Adams said: “[A] big one. And she crushed it.
“She [Meghan] crushed it, and she crushes it in the show.”
