Cleaning products can be expensive, but not only that, they often aren’t eco-friendly – so if you’re looking for something that is cheap and works wonders, one woman has the perfect product for you, and you can make it .
Candice, who posts on as @thrivewithcandice, shared that “literally all you need” to make a great all-purpose cleaner that actually works are orange peels, and white vinegar.
“Making your own all purpose cleaner will save you a tonne of money”, she claimed.
Candice believes that it should be easier to get your hands on products that aren’t toxic, and she said there’s nothing easier than making this – anyone can do it.
She urged people to “just keep your orange peel”, but lemon and lime peels work too.
…
She then said you need to add the peel to a “big mason jar”, and then fill it all up with white vinegar. You should let it sit in a cool dry place for about “two to three days”.
“The longer you let it sit the more the white vinegar is going to be infused with the nice aromas”, she shared, so your home smells citrussy, rather than of white vinegar.
She then said you need to get a spray bottle, fill it up with half the vinegar mixture, and then top it up with water “and that’s literally it”.
Candice then claimed it can be used for “grease and grime build up” and on many surfaces in the home.
In the comments, someone wrote: “I’ve also done this with pine needles and it smelled better than pine sol!”
“I use vinegar mixed with water and few drops of lemon or lemon essential oil”, another penned.
A cleaning enthusiast wrote: “I’ve seen other videos say leave it for weeks or a month, so it’s refreshing to see you say 2-3 days (I’m impatient)”.
Someone asked whether it has a “vinegar smell”. Candice replied: “Yes a little bit but much less than without the infused peels! I would leave the mixture sit in your cabinet longer to mask even more the vinegar smell”.
