Mike and Hannah Lynch died on board the £30m yacht
Inquests have been opened into the deaths of and his daughter Hannah, who died when the £30 million yacht they were holidaying on sank.
The inquest confirmed Dr Lynch drowned on board the vessel, which sank amid a freak storm, but his daughter’s cause of death
Now the inquests – which also include those into the deaths of Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, 70, and his 71-year-old wife Judy Bloomer – have been adjourned at Suffolk Coroner’s Court, in Ipswich.
Suffolk Police Detective Superintendent Michael Brown said the provisional cause of death for Mr Lynch was given as drowning, while the cause of death for the other three are still under investigation.
The Suffolk Police officer said that further testing is now required to establish their cause of death following the initial post-mortem in Italy which is the equivalent of a Home Office post-mortem in the UK.
:
Mr Lynch and his daughter both lived in London. Jonathan and Judy Bloomer lived in Sevenoaks in Kent.
Dr Lynch, 59, who founded software giant Autonomy in 1996, was on the vessel when it sank during a storm in August.
There were 22 people on board the Bayesian and 15 of them were rescued, including Dr Lynch’s wife Angela Bacares.
Seven died in the tragedy, including US lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo, and Canadian-Antiguan national Recaldo Thomas who was working as a chef on the vessel.
The autopsies on Mr and Mrs Morvillo revealed their cause of death, sources claimed last month, confirming they had drowned.
There were “no signs” of any other injuries, the Daily Mail reports.
