One dead in float plane crash in remote area of B.C.’s central coast

It happened in Warner Bay, located north of the Broughton islands and Broughton Archipelago Marine Provincial Park

Police say one person is dead after a float plane crashed in a remote area along B.C.’s central coast.

Mounties in Port Hardy, southwest of the crash site, say the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Victoria notified police of the crash on Wednesday night.

They say a search and rescue unit went to the scene and found one of the plane’s three occupants had died in the crash.

It happened in Warner Bay, north of the Broughton islands and Broughton Archipelago Marine Provincial Park.

The Mounties say police divers been called in to support the investigation.
