Eminem is going to be a grandfather!
The rapper’s daughter Hailie Jade Mathers posted a picture of her holding a sonogram and hugging her husband, adding the caption, “mom & dad est. 2025.”
Her announcement comes just hours after her dad hinted at his upcoming grandfather status in his new music video, “Temporary.” One of the scenes features Eminem and Mathers on a porch.
Mathers walks up to her dad in the clip and gives him a jersey with “Grandpa” and a No. 1 emblazoned on the back. Other scenes in the video for the song dedicated to Mathers show a sonogram.
“Temporary” is largely an ode to Mathers, who the rapper welcomed with his ex-wife, Kim Scott, in 1995. He and Scott had a family of three kids, as Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, adopted his then-niece Alaina and Scott’s daughter, Stevie.
The song dropped in July before the official music video, composed of old home videos of Eminem with Hailie Jade Mathers, premiered Oct. 3.
The lyrics serve as a series of wishes for his daughter for when he’s “gone.” In the second verse, he raps, “Yeah, so Hailie Jade, I wrote you this song/ To help you cope with life now that I’m gone/ How should I start? Just wanna say/ Look after Alaina, Stevie, and Uncle Nate/ And, sweetie, be strong, I know I was your rock.”
During the music video, when he says, “it’s OK for you to let me go,” scenes of Mathers in a white gown on her wedding day flash on-screen. The rapper hugs his daughter at the altar, and later, the father and daughter dance together, Eminem’s head resting on Mathers’ shoulder.
Mathers married her longtime partner, Evan McClintock, in May after getting engaged in February 2023.
Eminem’s latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” features another song about fatherhood. Titled “Somebody Save Me,” the music video for the song features old clips of Eminem with all three of his then-young daughters.
Mathers opened up about hearing the album on her podcast, “Just a Little Shady,” in August.
