Fury has erupted in residential areas of Spain over tourists screaming and shouting into the early hours. Every year, tourists flock to the hotspot, , to party on its famous strip – but locals have had enough.

The “horrendous” noise has been filmed by residents with footage showing parade around the streets in the early hours. Visitors appear drunk while they sing and scream while walking through the streets.

One resident living in Avinguda de l’Olivera said: “They walk down the street in flocks. It’s horrendous and we have to put up with it every day. These noises can last well into the morning.”

Speaking to a local media outlet in the Balearic Islands, Ultima Hora, she added: “Magaluf seems like the city that never sleeps.”

Even when it is out of season and less  are in the area, locals say it is still loud due to students who take to the strip at night. But during the summer months, the issue really is at its worst.

Ms Hora joked: “The locals think that these groups of tourists come from the Pirates Adventure show! Nobody sleeps on this street.”

Residents are worried police “ignore” the issue and do little to stop the behaviour of tourists.

This comes after protests have been held telling tourists to “go home”.

Demonstrators took over a beach in Sa Rapita, while in an earlier protest in Palma saw activists march through the central square.

Regulations to reduce tourists in the area have been put in place, with some saying the new measures aren’t enough.

Partygoers in the Majorcan areas of Palma, Llucmajor and Magaluf as well as San Antonio in Ibiza now face penalties of between €500 and €1,500 (£430 and £1,290) if their street drinking “disrupts coexistence, involves crowds or deteriorates the tranquillity of the environment”.

The future of the party capital, , remains uncertain with residents hoping for change.
