Wayne Mardle had a trick up his sleeve against Fallon Sherrock
Wayne Mardle left Fallon Sherrock feeling embarrassed as he beat her in a game of 501 – without using his hands. The 51-year-old was joined by the Queen of the Palace on his Club 501 show, when he decided to throw the rulebook out of the window in favour of some light-hearted fun.
Sherrock, 30, appeared to be in pole position to claim the spoils, having left herself on four after Mardle had miscounted and busted his score. However, the former PDC star returned to the oche to take out 23, doing so in unusual fashion.
Mardle decided to have a little bit of fun with his guest – by trying to beat her by throwing a dart from his mouth. The Sky Sports favourite is no stranger to the trick and even tried it earlier in the match, without success.

But he went for it again with Sherrock sat on four. “I really want to blow it again but I feel like I do it every week,” Mardle said before excitedly cracking a smile and adding: “I’m doing it!” Sherrock gave a droning: “No,” but a laughing Mardle had already made up his mind.
He went on: “Right, I just want to do it once. Just once,” before putting a dart horizontally between his lips. He let out a quick blow while cocking his head forward only to hit an eight – having already scored seven – leaving him with eight left to go with his final dart.
The pressure was undoubtedly on, as Mardle knew that Sherrock would close the game out with a double two if he squandered his third and final throw. Undeterred, he once again put the dart between his lips before blowing it towards the board.
Mardle blew a double eight to win
This time he found his target, hitting a double four in miraculous fashion before jumping around in jubilation. Bearing a grin ear to ear, he walked towards Sherrock while saying: “Come here you,” before embracing his fellow player. As he walked back towards to pull his darts, he coolly added: “Anyway, I think you’ll find that’s how it’s done.”
Seeing the funny side, Sherrock gave an exasperated smile of her own before saying: “How embarrassing. He didn’t even throw the dart and it went in.” Mardle added: “Had to happen,” as he looked skywards with his hands on his hips.
Sherrock will be hoping for slightly better luck in her bid to return to the Alexandra Palace this December. The Queen of the Palace made history in north London four years ago as she made it to the third round, following victories over Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic. She is aiming for a fifth appearance at Ally Pally this Christmas, although her participation isn’t guaranteed just yet.
