Hollywood icon Liam Neeson is set to captivate audiences once again with a gripping new film.
Despite murmurs about his character’s familiar traits, die-hard fans are buzzing with anticipation for his next silver screen venture after the trailer for Absolution was released.
Sceptics might argue hes been typecast, but that hasn’t dampened their enthusiasm for his latest project. Neeson, now 72, reinvented himself with the smash-hit Taken in 2008, along with its high-octane sequels.
Though no stranger to action having exploded onto the scene in the ’90s classic Darkman it’s been a recurring theme to see Neeson in these kinds of roles, as showcased in hits like The Grey and The Commuter.

Yet it appears movie-goers are looking forward to another Neeson-anchored thriller, as the forthcoming flick Absolution adds to his impressive resume, reports .
Neeson portrays a world-weary gangster grappling with reconciliation and a life peppered with misdeeds, all while the underworld is at his coattails.
The trailer hints at a personal plight against incurable headaches interwoven with a fraught quest to mend ties with his daughter, culminating in Neeson’s acceptance of an underground deal.
One fan took to X (formerly known as Twitter) saying: “He’s been playing the same character in every movie and it always interests me.”
Another agreed, expressing enthusiasm for the actor’s tough-guy roles: “Liam Neeson will always play an older guy that can scrap and I will always watch it.”
Neeson is set to share the screen with Ron Perlman in Absolution, featuring Perlman’s notable performances from Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy series to Sons of Anarchy’s Clay Morrow.
Movie fans in the UK will have to wait a little while longer though as the release date for the film remains unconfirmed.
However, it is expected to land in cinemas later this year.
