A note left to at a public park for a four-year-old’s party left fellow parents aghast.

The parents of a child who hogged three park benches for their child’s birthday celebration were and “entitled” after leaving a scrawled message for other park visitors to read.

Tables and benches had also been decorated with table cloths to steer other visitors away from them – which are not able to be officially reserved.

Users of an online message board – – were left furious at the letter to the other park users when it was shared with them.

The note read: “Reserved for a birthday party. Please respect the space we’ve set aside and do not use our tables. This is for a four-year-old’s party, don’t be the one to mess it up, thank you.”

Nobody chose to sit at the tables but it left a number of people enraged, with one park-goer calling the parents out on .

Their post read: “Busy public park on a hot Saturday/Labor Day weekend. Seems super entitled. Park has been open for four hours and no sign of them. All the other tables are full.”

The author of the post went on to reveal the tables remained empty for six hours before the “very rowdy” party arrived, armed with a loud portable speaker.

They added: “The rangers had to come and have a very long chat with them, after that they settled down.”

Families decided to set up on blankets near the tables in a show of disgust. People on also likened it to reserving sunbeds on holiday at 7am and not showing up until 3pm.

The original post hit the headlines in summer last year – and as the post mentioned Labor Day it seems likely it was left in a park in America.

Don’t miss… [REPORT] [REVEALED]

One woman said: “Several people could have used the chairs and left by the time they even showed up. Do you think this is entitlement or an extreme lack of awareness? I guess both types of people probably do this.”

Another wrote: “I understand them wanting to make sure they have seats for a party they want to throw in a public park, but preventing everyone from using them all day when they’re not even there yet wasn’t a great choice.”

One person said: “I think if you want to hold the table you need to station someone there to wait all day, otherwise it’s first come first served.”

Another added: “Yeah, I really want to be on their side because I know even when you reserve tables at the park, sometimes people refuse to move, but without a time on the note, the note is just useless.”

Others suggested a more positive way forward for the parents of the four year old, suggesting what they could have wrote instead on the note.

They said: “We’re having a birthday party for our four-year-old at noon. Feel free to use this table until then, but please leave it by noon so we can celebrate this special day with our family.”
