Ex-Trump Aide Details Extra Step She’s Taking To Dump Donald Trump Once And For All

Former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson said she isn’t just voting for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris over Republican rival Donald Trump in November’s presidential election.

On Wednesday, Hutchinson, a longtime conservative, told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell that she’ll also be voting for Democratic candidates in the House and the Senate too.

Why?

“Just because I think it’s so important we get past this period of Donald Trump for America to begin healing,” Hutchinson explained. “And once we’re past that period, and hopefully we can open up responsible policy debates in the future, but right now we need to focus on defeating Donald Trump.”

Hutchinson served as an aide to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows but has since become a fierce critic of the ex-POTUS and even backed President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign before he dropped out and endorsed his vice president, Harris, instead.

Trump and running mate JD Vance are a “despicable portrayal” of the GOP, Hutchinson told O’Donnell.

Policy is important but so is the character of leaders, she added, acknowledging how “frightening” it may be for Republicans to potentially break away.

But she warned that Trump and Vance “cannot be trusted with the Constitution, they cannot be trusted to uphold our rule of law and they cannot be trusted to enact responsible policy.”
