Mopar teases SEMA-bound Ram—a 2500 TRX, perhaps?

Maybe that prediction is a little far-fetched, but we still expect plenty of rugged gear on this 4×4 concept

  • Hold on to your butts: Mopar has something in the Ram-branded hopper for SEMA 2024
  • The teaser revealed early October shows us a winch and burly orange tow hooks
  • The annual SEMA aftermarket show happens early November, near the Las Vegas Strip

We’d also be remiss to not point out that winch in the front bumper, a hallmark found on Power Wagon trims of the Heavy Duty. A so-called Power Rebel Wagon, anyone? Maybe not. That relief pattern on this concept’s black hood stinger stripe likely contains extra clues, to anyone with the eyesight to decipher them.

While we agree anything is possible at SEMA – witness the manufacturer-built Toyota off-road crawler which had a freaking tank track on its underbelly to help get over rocky obstacles – the thought of a Ram 2500 TRX might be a bridge too far, at least in terms of anything that wants a hope of getting green-lit for production.

SEMA is an automotive aftermarket trade show for industry insiders held annually at the Las Vegas Convention Center, consuming approximately a gazillion acres of space and seeming to grow every year. What started ages ago as an event for territory managers to hawk headlight covers to resellers is now one of the nation’s premiere places to see wild one-off builds, and it often prods manufacturers to bring a cadre of special builds. The show is scheduled to take place this year from November 5 to 8 in Vegas.
