Prince Harry was allegedly snubbed from a lavish ball at a top London restaurant on his latest solo trip to the UK.

The Duke of Sussex has been in London this week attending various functions including the WellChild Awards.

During this period, it was announced that his cousin was expecting her second child with husband Edoardo Mapelli.

The venue where Beatrice and Edoardo held their engagement party, the Chiltern Firehouse, is due to host a masked ball to celebrate its 10th anniversary but a source told the Daily Mail that Harry has not been invited.

They claimed that the guest list had no room for plus-ones and that a source told the publication that was “not one of our crowd”.

has been under fire both in the UK and at his new home in the USA as he and his wife try to recover momentum in 2024 after a tumultuous 2023.

This has seen Harry go on more solo trips without Meghan including to New York and more recently to the UK. There have been rumours that the prince is increasingly homesick in Montecito, California where he has lived since leaving full-time royal duties in 2020.

What’s more, some commentators say that Harry may be trying to separate himself from the bubble in a bid to rebuild his credibility at home and begin to repair relations with senior members of the Royal Family.

Speaking to , commentator Tom Sykes claimed that sources say that Harry wants to “leave behind…celebrity nonsense” as part of reputational recovery.

Mr Sykes explained: “Speaking to sources close to Harry, it’s quite clear that he wants to leave behind the celebrity nonsense…recover his reputation as an honest dealer and become known as a serious philanthropic player.

“However, it’s going to be incredibly difficult, nigh on impossible, to transform back into a credible quasi-royal unless he reconciles with the crown.

“Unless Harry can switch the narrative away from the kind of tit-for-tat melodrama we’ve seen this month, he may never be able to find his way back.”

One place Harry will reportedly not head straight back to is America with the Duke instead flying to , to help raise the profile of the work of a charity he co-founded with Prince Seeiso called Sentebale.

In a previous statement on the work of the charity he co-founded two decades ago, Harry said: “As we head towards our 20th anniversary, our ambition has grown, giving us the confidence to bring our skills and experience in designing solutions with young people, and to leveraging our convening power to engage with leading regional players and global funders so we can add Sentebale’s voice to addressing the challenges faced by the next generation in southern Africa.”

Chairwoman of Sentebale Dr Sophi Chandauka said that Harry’s return to Africa “marks a milestone as we collaborate with world-class organisations and local leadership to engage this critical youth cohort”.

She added: “Together, we aim to accelerate digital and economic inclusion, addressing the low levels of access and literacy, which are crucial for young people’s participation in the global economy and for achieving Sentebale’s goals in health, wealth creation and climate resilience.”
