Temperatures will be average for October
The Met Office’s Indian summer verdict has been revealed – and it’s not good news.
A warm week was predicted by James Madden from Exacta Weather who said that “Indian summer type-weather” is still to come over the next several days.
Madden said yesterday (October 1): “From today and tomorrow and for the next several days, we will see a high-pressure influence and much warmer winds also turning in a more southerly direction across our shores.
“It will bring a decent rise in temperatures in the best of the sunny weather during the days that the apps and others are somewhat undervaluing and potentially incorporating more cloud cover than is necessary in places.”
But the said the UK will in fact see showers in much of the east for the rest of the week, with temperatures between 13C and 17C.
Parts of the country will see showers
Most of the UK will see dry, bright conditions but temperatures will not reach Indian summer territories, with October highs averaging 16C.
Mr Madden added for next week: “There are favourable options for it to turn rather unsettled and potentially cooler or much cooler at times from as early as the latter part of the upcoming weekend and early next week.
“The best we can hope for here is some sort of delay in this process, as a now inevitable and quite prolonged period of expected autumnal and significantly cooler/colder weather also looks set to arrive on cue, particularly throughout next week.”
