‘Broken’ dog who had ‘given up on life’ finds dignity again after transformation

One man has shared his heartwarming story of how he restored a ‘s ‘dignity’ after discovering her in a ‘broken’ state on the streets of .

Dog charity worker Niall Harbison, who is on a self-proclaimed mission to “save 10,000 dogs a month” regularly updates his 407,000 followers on X with tales of canine transformations.

His recent post about a pooch named Jenny has gone viral, amassing thousands of views and likes.

Niall began by posting a photo of a dejected Jenny as he recounted: “Four days ago when I found her on Saturday night she was utterly broken and had given up on life.”

He continued, detailing their journey, saying: “We’ve been working hard to turn her life around and the difference is already beautiful to watch. Jenny is starting to look and feel like she has some hope in life.”

Niall described how people would previously overlook Jenny and ‘act like she didn’t exist’, noting that “she would wait outside this local Thai shop in the hope someone would toss her some dinner.”

But he shared the “great news” that he has managed to alleviate her suffering with medication. “She was in agony from itching, bleeding and eye infections,” he said, adding that these were “actually very easy stuff to treat and huge instant wins.”

Niall then shared a heartwarming photo of Jenny, showing off her rejuvenation and vitality as she cheekily stuck out her tongue. He expressed his amazement, saying: “It’s hard to believe but this is the same dog today.

“The clarity in her eyes tells you everything. I don’t think I’m imagining it to say that she is a dog who has hope, love and some dignity in those eyes now just four days later.”

He went on to describe Jenny’s adjustment period at the rescue centre, saying: “She didn’t know how to live with us at @wearehappydoggo for the first 48 hours as all was strange. She now enjoys the soft blankets and sitting under the fan all day. As her body relaxes she is sleeping non-stop.”

Wrapping up his touching account, Niall observed: “She is by no means fixed and her journey is just starting but you can tell she understands her life has now totally changed for the better. Jenny is no longer invisible to the world.”
