Olly Murs was recently left moved after recounting how he was forced to leave his daughter with his wife just after she was born.
Amelia and welcomed their daughter, Madison, earlier this year, with the couple intially meeting back in 2019. They were married for just five months before Amelia announced that she was pregnant.
The couple recently joined Giovanna Fletcher on an episode of the podcast (October 1), where they opened up about .
During the discussion, Olly recalled how he was “scared” when the baby first arrived and how he was left feeling “awful” because he had to leave his newborn daughter and head to work.
Olly said: “I felt really confident. As soon as the baby was with us, I was scared. I was like, ‘Oh my God, like; she’s so small. Like, how do we keep her alive? Oh my God. What are we gonna do now?”

Olly recalled how he was “scared” when the baby first arrived
He continued: “That was probably the moment I was panicked and scared the most. I think when they had control of it, I was like, ‘Aw, you guys are great’, but when it was given to us, when Madison was given to us, I was like…”
Amelia then explained that Olly then only had an hour with his new baby before he had to leave for a , something he described as “hard” and “weird”. Giovanna then asked what this was like for the couple.
Olly replied: “Well, I knew that Amelia’s mum was there, which always gave me comfort. I knew Amelia wasn’t on her own. I think again, I just went, ‘I’m going to work’, and if I ever think this, I’m gonna cry all my eyes out all the way up to the gig.
“So I was kind of like, ‘I’m really sorry, babe, but I’ve gotta go’, and she knew I was going anyway. But there was definitely that…I haven’t really had a chance to bond with Maddy yet, and I don’t really know who she is.”
, who at this point started going quiet, then said that he didn’t want to “get emotional” before explaining that it was “hard to get that connection”. He later said that he felt “guilty and awful” but thought that he had to work and “provide”.

In May, Olly delighted fans after sharing a heartwarming post to mark his 40th birthday. He posted a photo of his baby daughter with the caption: “The only gift I wanted for my 40th was to be daddy and here you are xx love you Madi.”
In addition, Madison could be seen wearing an outfit with the words “Happy 40th Birthday Daddy” emblazoned on the back. One follower said the caption was making them “emosh”.
Prior to Madison’s birth, Olly kept his fans updated on , sharing a video that showed a wardrobe jam packed with bottles, babygrows and bibs.
“Not long now,” he wrote over the video and added: “All starting to feel a little real now.”
