The late Harry Potter star Richard Harris once owned a stunning mansion where legends partied in style.

Kilkee House is a stunning oceanfront estate on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Known for hosting lavish gatherings, the four-bedroom colonial-style property boasts lush gardens, a rock grotto pool, and a private dock.

Over the years, it welcomed royalty like and the Beatles. Harris, who portrayed Professor Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films, owned the mansion for over three decades.

After Harris’s death in 2002, his children sold the property in 2005 to real estate developer David Kosoy, who invested millions in restoring the estate to its original grandeur. Back in 2016, it was reported that the property was on the market for $10 million.

Richard Harris was a celebrated Irish actor, born on October 1, 1930, in Limerick, Ireland. Growing up in a working-class family, he developed a passion for acting early on, inspired by his experiences in local theatre.

Harris gained critical acclaim for his role in This Sporting Life (1963), earning an Academy Award nomination.

He became widely known for his portrayal of King Arthur in the musical Camelot (1967) and later starred in iconic films such as The Field (1990), where he played the fierce “Bull” McCabe, and the first two Harry Potter films (2001-2002) as Professor Dumbledore.

Sadly, Richard passed away on October 25, 2002, in London, after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease.

Previously, the late actor discussed the choices he faced in his illustrious career, especially regarding his role as Professor Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series. Reflecting on the ongoing offers he received to reprise the character, he openly expressed his reservations about the commitments involved.

“All I knew is that they kept offering me the part and raising the salary every time they called. I kept turning it down,” Harris remarked.

He expressed his concerns about being tied down to the franchise, noting, “Anyone involved has to agree to be in the sequels, all of them, and that’s not how I wanted to spend the last years of my life, so I said no over and over again.”
