ITV Emmerdale ‘confirms’ Tom’s real attacker – and it’s not Belle or Cain Dingle

latest plot twist has viewers in a frenzy as it seemed to ‘reveal’ that Tom King’s attacker wasn’t his former flame Belle Dingle or her protective brother Cain with the audience already speculating who will take the fall.

In the gripping episode on Monday (September 30), fans were on the edge of their seats as an injured Tom regained consciousness in the hospital, agony etched on his face with his uncle Jimmy providing support at his bedside.

When the police arrived seeking answers about the ambush, Tom confessed he couldn’t recall a single detail, describing it all as a “blank” before abruptly ending the police interview.

Later, a furious Tom confronted Belle over the phone, accusingly questioning: “Don’t I even get a hello? After what you did to me?” He then coerced her into visiting him in the hospital with a veiled threat: “Or else I’ll tell the police everything”. Yet, Tom stopped short of confirming if Belle was truly his assailant.

The fanbase is now sharply split some believe that Tom is cunningly playing a deception game on the police to gain an upper hand against Belle, while others firmly believe she is innocent in the matter of the brutal axe betrayal.

Adding more fuel to the fire, a segment of the fans suspect Vinny could be the man responsible, piecing together that he learned about Tom’s mistreatment of Belle and noting their growing closeness recently. On social media, speculation is rife: One Twitter user exclaimed: “Tom’s going to blame Vinny!”, reports .

Another viewer concurred with the theory by saying: “Wouldn’t it be a twist if Vinny HAD attacked Tom and not Belle… and he’s using that as leverage instead #,” hinting at an alternative narrative: “Like it was all a different dream sequence/hallucination… omg the possibilities.”

Meanwhile, a third chimed in, suggesting: “If he blames Vinny then Belle will own up.”

Yet, some viewers couldn’t help but notice an egregious error around the hospital scenes. They highlighted a glaring inconsistency when they observed that despite Tom having suffered a stab wound in his back, he was oddly positioned lying on the very injury.

One took to Twitter, exasperatingly posting: “And would Tom be lying on his f***in back after being attacked with a massive axe in said back?” Echoing this sentiment, another viewer chimed in: “Just a minute. Tom was axed in the back, but the hospital team have him lying on it!”

Another perturbed fan exclaimed: “I hope Tom lying on his back is hurting him like a b**ch!” Meanwhile, another sarcastically added: “To say he’s had an axe in his back, Tom doesn’t look that worse off for it.”

The plot thickened as Belle found herself interrogated by the police, with Lydia and Charity quickly stepping in to concoct an alibi, ensuring she remained disconnected from any knowledge of the ‘true’ assailant.
