American influencers have gone viral after they tried eating at a pub for the first time – but were left confused by staple British foods.

, an influencer from Tampa, Florida, is known for her comedic clips online. But recently, she has been sharing videos from her visit to the UK with her pal Jared Gregersen.

And what would a British trip be without trying one of our iconic Wetherspoons ? The pair quickly realised how much they could learn about British culture once they stepped inside – including how different the is.

Their first error, which left Brits chuckling, was that they called the pub a ‘restaurant’ before going inside and ordering food. Amber was curious about the ‘All Day Brunch’, while her friend opted for the steak and kidney pudding.

“We’re thinking probably the all-day brunch. We got to try an authentic English brunch while we’re here with black pudding. We haven’t tried black pudding yet. We don’t have that in America, so we gotta give it a try,” she said in the video, which has gained more than 35,000 likes.

Trying Wetherspoon for the first time!! What else should we try??

But the pair were quickly baffled by some of the items on their plates when the dishes arrived. Amber was quick to ask: “Why are there beans with this? Do we eat beans for breakfast here?”

Whereas Jared was left baffled by the pot of gravy that came with his meal as he didn’t know where to put it. However, some kind punters were on hand to help.

“The steak and kidney pudding. This gravy that came with it. Do we do we put the gravy on the pudding? We’re not too sure English people help us. What do we do with the gravy?” she asked.

After a brief fast forward, Amber continued. “So there’s some very nice gentleman sitting right next to us that just informed us that the gravy does, in fact, go over the pie. We’re gonna pour the gravy on the pie.”

The pair went on to try black pudding but they didn’t know whether they liked it or not. “I don’t know what I thought about the blood pudding, though. It was real weird,” she said.

Don’t miss…

When they left, Amber declared that they learned a lot about British culture from just spending time in the pub. She explained: “In America, we are always in such a hurry. We’re always in such a rush, like, we gotta go, go, go, we gotta get things done, we gotta eat our food, we gotta order our food.

“We gotta get out because we have somewhere else to go. But here it just feels so nice and laid back that people can just come and relax and have a good time and just enjoy this beautiful country of yours.”

users rushed to the comments to share what they thought of their visit. One user wrote: “Love how you call Wetherspoons a ‘restaurant’. It’s just a pub with food. But it’s cheap and cheerful and so glad you liked it.”

Another commented: “The beans are correct with a breakfast, the chips are definitely NOT,” as someone else penned: “If you want to really try black pudding, Wetherspoons is definitely not the 1.”

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “It feels so weird hearing someone call it ‘Wetherspoon’… I know it’s accurate but everyone calls it Spoons or Wetherspoons!”
