Prince Harry ‘only has himself to blame’ for heightened UK security risk after he shot himself in the foot by releasing details of how many fighters he killed during his tours of .

‘s shock revelation came where he recalled that in Afghanistan.

Harry completed two tours of Afghanistan in 2007-08 and in 2012.

There are now increased security concerns ahead of his trip to the United Kingdom on Monday but according to a well placed source Harry only has himself to blame.

“The reason why Harry has become such a security concern is due to comments he’s made about the Taliban,” said the source. “Because of those comments, he will always be a target. That’s something he only has himself to blame.

Steve Jones, 53, who trained Harry said: “We’re not here to say, ‘I did this, I did that’. It’s not a game. These are real people. They’ve got families. I wouldn’t have made any comment. I get a very uneasy feeling for anybody who says, ‘I killed 10’. It’s not what should be said, at all.

“But [Harry] did have a successful tour. It’s a shame he didn’t hang around to do more but I guess he ticked that box and scratched that itch and moved on. I would say he’s stepped backwards in a way, from the way he was to [how he is] now.”

A source said: “Harry is still very concerned about his security in the UK and his team have asked that the location not be shared with anyone until the day of the event,” said the source. “It’s one thing for Harry to come over last minute for a funeral or to see family, but completely different when the event is publicised and in the public domain.

“He [Harry] could become a target so the team have ensured that the location only be known on a need to know basis.”
