Christmas On The Cobbles
Coronation Street’s countdown to Christmas is officially on.
As Britain says goodbye to summer, the iconic ITV street is preparing for the festive season. In a first look at the seasonal props, Express.co.uk attended the Experience Tour at the soap’s set in Salford.
Depsite Christmas still being three months away and the last of the summer sun creating a back drop of beautiful blue skies, Weatherfield is looking more than ready for winter nights.
The cobbles had been completely transformed with makeshift snowmen, huge Christmas trees and endless lights.
Here, we take a look at the main street, the precinct and different businesses such as The Kabin and Webster’s Garage.
The gardens invited children to get into the festive spirit, with a bright red slegde.
There was also a snowy looking sign, which read: “North Pole this way”.
Someone had gotten very creative in Webster’s Garage as a snowman was made out of car tyres, spray painted white. Four tyres were piled high as a fifth was turned on its side with a cone placed in the middle for the snowman’s nose.
A smiley face had been drawn on it and the look was completed with a little Santa hat.
Nuttall’s Brewery was looking festive with two matching wreaths on the huge wooden doors.
They were embellished with multi-coloured baubles, with the words ‘Merry Christmas’ scribed in the centre.
Over in the precinct, a huge Christmas tree say in the corner of the children’s playground.
It was covered in red, gold and while baubles with a red bow sitting on the very top.
Colourful lights covered the play area’s railings.
