fans around the world have been left in shock over the death of Dame Maggie Smith. The acclaimed British actress died on Friday in hospital at the age of 89.
Her dazzling career started in the 1950s and went on to appear in over 60 films, with one of her notable roles being in the Harry Potter film franchise.
From 2001 until 2011 she portrayed the iconic character Professor McGonagall, but fans of the movies have noticed that her death is eerily connected to one of her fellow co-stars.
Dame Maggie died on September 27th – which was exactly the same date as the death of Michael Gambon one year earlier. Gambon died following a battle with pneumonia and was known for playing Professor Albus Dumbledore.
The unexpected connection has been spotted by a number of Harry Potter fans, who have reacted to the coincidence on social media.
