If you’re ready to get a head start on the 2024 spooky season by picking up a pumpkin, you’ve come to the right place.
There’s no shortage of pumpkin patches around Metro Vancouver where you can pick out a pumpkin for Halloween, snap some Instagram photos, or chase your toddler around while they get muddy.

Laity Pumpkin Patch
Location: 12725 Laity St., Maple Ridge
Hours: Opens daily for the season from Sept. 28, hours vary
Price: Children, adults and seniors (ages 3 and up) are $14 on weekends, $11 on weekdays; children ages 2 and under are free with a paying adult
Laity Pumpkin Patch is big, so big that it has a north patch and a south patch, on either side of 128 Avenue in Maple Ridge. The north patch is for the younger crowd, a bit more family-friendly and accommodating for those under the age of 4, while the south patch is for those over the age of 4.
Check out a corn maze, yard games, farm animals, and a pumpkin cannon. Yep, a pumpkin cannon. Attractions are included in the cost of a ticket but pumpkins are sold separately.
Eagle Acres Pumpkins
Location: 8796 240 St., Langley
Hours: Open weekends, holidays and Pro-D Days only beginning Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Price: Adults are $14 plus GST, children over the age of 2 and seniors are $12 plus GST, kids aged 2 and under get in free. Buy your tickets online for $1 off.
Hayrides, check. Animals, check. Photo ops, check. Pumpkins? Definitely check that off your list. Eagle Acres offers 25 varieties of pumpkins and gourds so you can go to town picking out your porch pumpkin.
Harris Pumpkin Patch
Location: 24227 Dewdney Trunk Rd., Maple Ridge
Hours: Opens daily for the season on Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to dusk
Price: No admission but pumpkins start at $2 for small ones and at $25 for an extra large bad boy
If you’re just looking for a casual, simple pumpkin patch for a few photos and to take home a pumpkin, check out the family-run Harris Pumpkin Patch. There’s no admission, attractions, petting zoo or hayrides but that also means lower crowds to contend with. The Harris family keeps the main thing the main thing — and the main thing is pumpkins.
Southlands Farm Pumpkin Farm Fest
Location: 3208 West 51st Ave., Vancouver
Hours: Opens for the season on Oct. 2, runs Wednesday to Friday from 3:30 p.m. to dusk, weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Price: Admission is $15 on weekends/holidays, $13 on weekdays; children 2 and under are free. Advance online booking is recommended.
If you’re looking to stay close to the city, check out Southlands Farm’s Pumpkin Farm Fest. Meet the locals (ie. goats, sheep, chickens and horses), choose a pumpkin and enjoy a campfire. Not all pumpkins are grown on site though, some came from a farm in Delta and are “spread around the orchard for easy choosing.” Pony rides are also on offer for an extra $10.
Interested in living that farm life? The farm invites guests to “pitch in! Pick up a rake or manure fork and help us in our daily tasks. Just ask a farmer what needs doing.”
Richmond Country Farms’ The Pumpkin Patch
Location: 12900 Steveston Hwy., Richmond
Hours: Opens daily for the season Sept. 28, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Price: Everyone age 3 and up $15 on weekdays and $18 on weekends/holidays; kids under 3 are free
Richmond Country Farms is a popular pumpkin patch destination for local school groups. Included with admission is a wagon ride, live entertainment by The Country Pumpkins, two corn mazes, photo opportunities, a fresh apple and a pumpkin of your choice.
When you’re done picking your pumpkin, enjoy a drink at the on-site Estate Winery and Country Vines Winery.
Rondriso Farms Pumpkin Patch
Location: 8390 172 St., Surrey
Hours: Opens for the season on Oct. 1, hours vary but hayrides are available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays, and from 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays
Price: Age 2 and up is $6, while hay rides to the pumpkin field are an additional $3 each
If you want to pick up some winter veggies along with your pumpkin, Rondriso might be the patch for you. Enjoy a hayride down to the pumpkin patch to pick out your gourd, and then stop at the general store on your way out to pick up some veggies. Don’t forget to say hello to the cows and chickens on your way home.
Greendale Acres Farm Pumpkin Patch
Location: 41905 Yale Road West, Chilliwack
Hours: Open from August to October with different offerings, hours vary
Price: Varies
For the princess lover in your family, visit Greendale Acres for their one-day Cinderella in the Pumpkin Patch event happening on Oct. 5. Kids are invited to dress up as their favourite princess or fairy tale character and capture fun photos at the picturesque farm before meeting Cinderella and picking out a keepsake. Special event pricing is $18 online, $21 at the door or included for members.
Otherwise, you can check our Greendale Acres’ pumpkin patch and countless other offerings throughout October such as the petting zoo, a hay bale maze, ropes and obstacle course, tractor and hay rides, and so much more. You can even become a member and enjoy a year’s worth of entry for all the included fun.
Willow View Farms
Location: 288 McCallum Rd., Abbotsford
Hours: Opens for the season on Oct. 1, operates Tuesday to Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Price: No admission required, pricing for pumpkins vary by weight
In addition to picking your own pumpkin, Willow View Farms also offers apple picking. Head out with a wagon, pick your pumpkin and a few apples and you’re set for a cosy fall of apple cider and pumpkin pie.
Taves Family Farm
Location: 333 Gladwin Rd., Abbotsford
Hours: Open for the season on Sept. 21, daily hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Price: Free admission on weekdays, but admission is required on weekends
The ever popular Taves Family Farm is among the earliest pumpkin patches to open this year, having started their pumpkin season on Sept. 21. While the patch is free to visit on weekdays, weekend visitors will need to have a fun pass, a super fun pass or a pumpkin pass for entry.
Pumpkin sizes vary from $1 for a teeny, tiny pumpkin or up to $40 for some of the specialty pumpkins. Don’t forget to swing by and visit the pumpkin carriage for a photo, and sip some cider at the Taves Estate Cidery as well.
Meadows Family Farm: It’s Pumpkin Time
Location: 12377 248th St., Maple Ridge
Hours: Opens for the season Sept. 28 and operates daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Price: Admission is $12 a person age 3 and up, $8 for seniors, and those 2 and under are free. A family rate of $42 is available.
Meadows Family Farm has a new pumpkin patch and peddle track for 2024, along with wagon rides, a petting zoo, a corn pit, jumping pillow, bouncy castle, train rides, crafts and more.
Aldor Acres Fall Farm Pumpkin Patch
Location: 24990 84 Ave. Langley
Hours: Opens for season on Sept. 21, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Price: Admission is $17 per person or you can purchase a family day pass for $85 that includes two adults and three or more children from the same household. Babies and toddlers who cannot walk are free.
Mann Farms: Fall at the Farm
Location: 790 McKenzie Rd., Abbotsford
Hours: Open for the season Sept. 14, daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Prices: Admission starts at $18 for weekdays and go up to $50 for VIP and Treat Pass options, kids age 2 and under are free
If you’re looking for something a little different, Mann Farms’ “first-of-its-kind Forest Pumpkin Patch might be it. Take a stroll through the forest and pick out a pumpkin before visiting with some barnyard friends, taking a trip on a zip line, or attempting the climbing wall. Your ticket includes a ton of “barnyard adventureland” attractions, as well as photo ops and displays, and a trip through a corn maze.
You can even get VIP or Treat Pass tickets that include a pumpkin, a sipper with wine or apple juice, mini doughnuts, and double pumpkin spice cream.
