Arne Slot has enjoyed his start to life in charge of Liverpool.
has hinted January transfer window could be another quiet one, despite continued links to United star Anthony Gordon.
After a failed move for Martin Zubimendi, it had looked as if would end Slot’s first summer window in charge without signing any fresh blood.
The Reds eventually added a player to their current squad when Federico Chiesa penned a move as part of a £12.5million deal from Juventus.
But Slot is already playing down the chance of entering the market in January for any new additions.
Commenting after knocked a sorry West Ham United out of the League Cup in mid-week, the Dutch tactician claimed: “You [reporters] already start to laugh because you’re thinking ‘for two months I only ask him about [signing] new players.
“I constantly told you guys how many quality players we already had and I think you all knew.
“That’s also what showed in the last weeks and today again, that we have many quality players.”
Things could’ve been much different had Gordon joined the six-time European champions, with a earlier in the window.

Anthony Gordon was reportedly on Liverpool’s transfer radar in the summer.
Given Gordon’s primary position is at left-wing, it’s likely one of Luis Diaz or Cody Gakpo would’ve been moved one – two players who have started the season on fire for .
Diaz already has five goals in the to his name, whereas Gakpo, who has had to be patient for game time, netted twice in the mid-week win against West Ham.
Slot praised the mentality of those players who have waited in the wings, Gakpo included, following ’s latest Anfield demolition: “What pleased me most is that even if a lot of new players come in, they don’t come in and try to have a good individual performance, they try to work really hard for the team.

“There was a lot of desire not to concede. And as a result of that, we had some good individual performances as well.”
Slot now has a strong chance to land silverware in his first season as boss, with a tricky but not terminal tie against Brighton to come in the next round.
And given the players are seemingly responding to Slot’s demands, it would be foolish to disrupt the rhythm in January, when he might’ve already hit the jackpot with ’s existing crop of talent.
