In an interview with the Mirror to publicize his upcoming tour, legendary singer Paul Young shared his thoughts on the disgraced TV chef who burgled his home in 1998. During this incident, Gino, then a young 21 year old waiter, entered Paul’s London residence while the singer was away, stealing valuable guitars worth £4,000 and a platinum record.
Gino was imprisoned for this crime for two years at the time. Young had only previously spoken about the incident on the Jeremy Vine show shortly after it occurred.
When questioned about Gino D’Acampo in a Q&A session, Paul Young stated: “I’ve only commented on it once, and that was on the Jeremy Vine show shortly after it happened. You know, I wish him well. I hope he comes out of this okay. We all make mistakes in our life, and I got most of what was stolen; I got most of it back.”
Later, when he was asked about whether he had run into Gino since then, Paul said: “Sometimes I’d go to ITV to be on Good Morning Britain or something like that, and someone said, ‘Gino D’Acampo’s here,’ but then I think they move people around so that we conveniently don’t bump into each. But I have done a couple of times. I’d go, ‘oh, hi. How are you?’ Everything’s alright. I absolutely agree [with forgiveness].”
Throughout his interview, it was clear that the singer wishes Gino D’Acampo well and hopes that he will have a successful future despite what he did to Young, reports

His new tour will not only include performances, but it will also have a special segment where fans can interact with him via a Q&A session and get answers from him on a variety of topics. Celebrity chef Gino has been embroiled in controversy, facing accusations of inappropriate and intimidating behaviour on his TV show sets, claims he firmly denies.
Meanwhile, singer Paul recounted his traumatic experience to the Mirror as he prepares for an upcoming tour next month, following a severe accident during a holiday. He suffered multiple leg fractures and was rushed into intensive care for three emergency blood transfusions after just one day into his vacation on the Greek island of Santorini.

Recounting the incident, Paul said: “I fell and my leg cracked as soon as I hit the step. Once I’d gone down, I couldn’t stop. There was no handrail, so nothing to hold on to. I just thought, ‘I’ve lost control’. I fell down to three or four more steps, fracturing my leg again and again. It was a multi-fracture.”
He continued: “When I came to a stop, I looked down and my leg was in a slightly weird position, underneath my bottom. I thought ‘I don’t like that. My leg shouldn’t be like that’, so I tried to straighten it up and that’s when the pain started”.”
Paul is now recovering well thanks to extensive physiotherapy and hydrotherapy rehabilitation and is eager to return to performing live. After completing his UK tour in early June, he plans to embark on a US tour with Australian-American musician Rick Springfield, for which he is currently training with a personal trainer.
He stated: “I’ve got a fitness girl coming in to make sure I’m able to get around. When I’ve got days off, and whenever I get back, I’ll be training. I’m just trying to do as much as I can.”
