Jonathan Majors admitted to strangling his ex-girlfriend in previously unreleased audio reportedly obtained by Rolling Stone.
On Monday, the outlet published details of a recorded conversation that it reported took place between the Marvel actor and ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in September 2022, months before his arrest for a separate incident in New York.
In a 28-second clip that Rolling Stone posted online, the man identified as Majors acknowledges assaulting a woman identified as Jabbari.
He can be heard saying, “I’m ashamed I’ve ever… I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman… I aggressed you.”
The woman interjects, “You strangled me and pushed me against the car.”
“Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah. That’s never happened to me,” he replies, prompting her to ask, “Because I said something sarcastically, in your eyes?”
“Well clearly, it’s more than that,” he responds before she adds, “Something inside of you.”
“Yeah, towards you,” he agrees before the recording ends.
HuffPost did not immediately receive a response to a request for comment from representatives for Majors and Jabbari.

Rolling Stone’s description of the recording aligns with Jabbari’s previous claims in a civil suit, which she and Majors settled out of court last November. The professional dancer dropped her assault and defamation suit after reaching what her attorney described as a “favorable settlement.” Majors did not admit any wrongdoing.
In March 2023, Majors was arrested for a separate altercation with Jabbari. He was charged with assault, strangulation and harassment after Jabbari accused of him attacking her in the backseat of a chauffeured car, hitting her and fracturing her finger.
During his trial, Majors denied any wrongdoing and alleged Jabbari was the aggressor.
He was convicted in December 2023 of misdemeanor assault and harassment but was acquitted of the more serious charges of intentional assault and aggravated harassment. In April, he was sentenced to probation, 52 weeks of domestic violence programming, and fined $250.
Despite his conviction, Majors has maintained that he has never been violent toward a romantic partner.
“My hands have never struck a woman, ever,” he told “Good Morning America” last year ahead of his sentencing.
Following his arrest, Majors was dropped from multiple projects, briefly derailing his career. However, he is set to return to the big screen this month with the release of “Magazine Dreams.”

While promoting the bodybuilding drama, Majors told The Hollywood Reporter that he is focused on moving forward.
“At some point there has to be accountability for writing your own story,” he said in an interview published Friday. “Am I going to fall into that narrative of falling apart, of self-destruction? Have a struggle, blame the world. Have a struggle, hate yourself. Have a struggle, deny everything. None of those narratives is beneficial.”
