Bradley Walsh has responded after fans accused him of “corpsing” on . The presenter hit back to reassure viewers of the popular quiz show that his reactions are fully authentic while presenting and all of his laughter is genuine.
Speaking about the questions on The Chase, Brad shared: “I don’t pre-read them, I do it as it is, I literally play the game,” he explained. “If I get a reaction, then it’s much better.” Speaking on Mile Fly Club podcast, Bradley reflected on one viral moment from the show – when he could not stop laughing at the name Fanny Chmelar.

He said: “I’ll read what’s on the autocue and half the time, I don’t realise what I’ve said.
“And it’s not until afterwards it dawns on me, so for instance, the Fanny Chmelar moment became quite iconic. And people, still today, think I’m corpsing deliberately but I’m not, that’s actually me laughing, I had no idea that was [coming] up.”
The added that question setters on the quiz show now try and “catch him out” with more unusual questions. Brad shared: “They used to have bets on who would be able to catch me out, so [there’s] plenty of moments on The Chase.”

“Corpsing” is a word often used in British theatre slang. It means that an actor breaks character during a scene — by laughing or forgetting their lines, or by causing another cast member to do so.
In a new show, Brad will be combining his engineering past with his secret passion – Egypt. The 64-year-old presenter, actor, comic and former apprentice engineer at Rolls Royce has turned his hand to a serious documentary as he explores the North African country’s “Cosmic Code” for the Sky History Channel.
The new documentary debates whether the ancient Egyptians could have ever actually built the pyramids, and if they didn’t, then who did? Wearing an Indiana Jones hat and humming the theme tune from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Bradley is determined to discover if aliens built the awe-inspiring ancient structures.
The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV and ITVX.
