Fron Goch Garden Centre, located near Caernarfon, has been crowned the UK’s finest garden centre. It has proved popular with both residents from the area and visitors from elsewhere who flock to its famous displays and cafe. The prestigious UK Garden Centre Association (GCA) has hailed Fron Goch as the nation’s best for 2024.
Alyson Haywood, a GCA inspector, praised Fron Goch, she said: “A wonderful garden centre with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, strongly focused on environmental sustainability and local sourcing.” While, Peter Burks, GCA chief executive, commented on the high standards within the association: “Through our annual inspections we know our member garden centres have some of the highest standards in our industry.”

He continued: “Each year, our members go from strength to strength and the competition to reach the top spots is more hotly contested. All of our worthy winners should be very proud of the example they set to others.
“I’d like to congratulate every one of them for their outstanding commitment to ensuring the public receives a truly positive experience when visiting them.”
The team at Fron Goch expressed their pride with a statement saying: “Achieving such an accolade is no easy feat. The standards set by the GCA and all 215 centres across the UK that are part of the garden centre industry, the best in the business is exceptionally high.
“We cannot thank our incredible team enough and this is a testimony to them, their passion, pride and belief in us and our community.”
The venue has also proved popular on TripAdvisor, with one reviewer writing: “Nice garden centre with a lovely restaurant. The dining area is very modern and clean.
“The staff are absolutely lovely, very welcoming and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious, you get the quality you pay for.

“Only had lunch today but on previous visit have had their cakes, which are so tasty. They have indoor seating and stunning outdoor seating with nice greenery around you.
“Great gluten free options (even some of their cakes too). Would highly recommend this place.”
While another added: “OMG What a beautiful place this is. I never knew it existed. Were visiting my sister in law at her caravan when she surgested we have our lunch out.
“Everything about our visit was amazing from the greeting by the lady who showed us to our table and all the wait staff.
“The food we had was delicious I couldn’t manage a pudding but I bought a slice of lemon meringue pie home which I’m now enjoying with a cup of tea.
“It’s delicious, and we will visit again when we are in the area. Also the shop and garden centre is lovely.”
And a third simply penned: “Wonderful coffee and cake and great for a look around. Sumptuous selection of food to choose from. Had the carrot cake, bought some indoor plants and a top for my wife.”
