A massive is likely to batter several parts of the UK as the latest have turned blue and white for March 28. WXCharts weather maps generated on March 17 using Met Desk data suggest that areas around Newcastle and Manchester will be covered under while the other areas in England will be drenched in heavy rain.

Several parts of London, Birmingham, and Cardiff may see heavy rainfall, with the temperature levels falling to freezing 4C during that period. The weather maps come days after the issued yellow warnings of ice for various parts of the country. The warns that the near-freezing temperatures will cause untreated surfaces to turn icy, “especially over the Pennines and Peak District”.

Jim Dales from British Weather Services told The Express: “We will switch to far more and mixed weather with some heavy rainfalls coming this Friday and onwards from there. The possibility of snow is more likely in Scotland and it may not last longer.”

Areas such as Leeds, Liverpool, and Worcester may see the heaviest rain, the maps have suggested.

The ’s long-range forecast between March 12 and 30 suggests a high possibility of “increased showers” in some areas.

According to the forecaster, wet conditions are likely to spread across the country, with chances of strong winds too.

It reads: “Still fine for many at the start of this period but by Friday and into the weekend, there is an increasing likelihood that rain or showers will start to arrive from the south or west.

“Wetter weather will probably spread to all areas, at least for a time and could be accompanied by strong winds at times. Into the following week, unsettled conditions will probably continue across many parts of the UK.

“Some heavy rain or showers are possible at times, these most likely across southern parts of the country.

“Temperatures are likely to be widely above average at the start of this period before probably falling back and then fluctuating around average for the remainder of the period.”
