The upcoming crime drama, This City Is Ours, is set to air on One soon. The series is the brainchild of Stephen Butchard, renowned for his work on The Last Kingdom and Five Daughters.
Filmed in Liverpool and Spain, the show centres around Michael, a man deeply entrenched in organised crime. Michael’s life takes an unexpected turn when he falls in love for the first time. In Diana, he sees a future – something worth fighting for and potentially losing.
The narrative follows their tumultuous love affair against the backdrop of Michael’s crumbling criminal life. For years, Michael and his friend Ronnie have been at the helm of a lucrative cocaine business, importing directly from Columbia. However, when a shipment goes missing, it becomes clear that their empire is under threat.
The plot thickens as Ronnie’s son Jamie expresses interest in taking over the family business. Both Michael and Jamie harbour ambitious plans to modernise the gang, setting the stage for a power struggle.

Who stars in This City Is Ours?
The role of gang leader Ronnie Phelan is portrayed by Sean Bean, a 65 year old English actor famed for his roles in Sharpe, Time and Legends.
Ronnie’s friend Michael Kavanagh is played by James Nelson-Joyce, a 36 year old English actor recognised for his performances in A Thousand Blows, Little Boy Blue and The Family Pile.
Michael’s partner Diana Williams is brought to life by Hannah Onslow, a 26 year old English actress known for her roles in This Is Going to Hurt and Belgravia: The Next Chapter.
Jack McMullen, a 34 year old English actor and writer known for his roles in Waterloo Road, Grange Hill and Brookside, plays Ronnie’s son, Jamie Phelan.
Julie Graham, a 59 year old Scottish actress celebrated for her roles in The Hardacres, Maternal and Queens of Mystery, portrays Elaine, Ronnie’s wife.

The series consists of eight hour-long episodes, all of which will be accessible on iPlayer from 6am on March 23.
