They don’t always wear seatbelts

Over the years members of the Royal Family have been seen not wearing seat belts, including the King and Queen Camilla. While it is believed they have full choice over whether or not they wear them when travelling in vehicles, one British security expert Michael Chandler believes that they may sometimes not wear seatbelts for a handful of reasons.

, Chandler said: “The main reason royals might not wear security belts is because of security considerations. As you might imagine, there’s concerns about extracting a principal from a vehicle as quickly as possible.

“It’s likely there’s a risk-based approach. There’ll be a risk assessment, the outcome of which will determine whether or not there needs to be extra precautions.”

It is also believed the decision whether or not to wear a seatbelt can be made based on convenience. He said: ‘If they’re in and out of a vehicle, royals will be less inclined to fit their seatbelt every time they get out of the car.”

They bring a black outfit when travelling

It has also been reported previously that members of the Royal Family have to take black clothes with them when they go away.

This is in case there is a death while they are away and they need a mourning outfit. As reported by various publications, a black outfit had to be brought to the late Queen Elizabeth II when she arrived back in the UK from Kenya.

This is because while she was abroad, her father King George VI passed away.

It is believed now that members of the family take black clothes with them to make sure they are always prepared.

The first and second-in-line to the throne should not travel together

It has been reported that those in line to the throne should not travel together at certain points.

For example, when Prince George turns 12, it is believed that he should be flying separately from his father .

This idea of those in line to the throne not travelling together was brought up by in

He wrote: “Far better, in my mind, not to think about certain facts, such as the cardinal rule for royal travel: Pa and William could never be on the same flight together, because there must be no chance of the first and second in line to the throne being wiped out. But no one gave a damn whom I traveled with. The Spare could always be spared.”

Royals sometimes pack blood for trips abroad

Another unusual fact about the royals is that some of them travel with a supply of their own blood on overseas trip in case they are ill.

One royal well-known for doing this was the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Royal expert Adam Helliker told “She will have kept the supply topped up with regular deposits on the months before a trip abroad.

“So it’s just like someone making voluntary blood donations – the difference being that she will be the only recipient if it’s ever needed – that ‘blue blood’ will never find its way to an ordinary patient.”
