star is determined to enjoy turning 65 today (March 17), as she marks her first birthday without her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes. but divorce proceedings are still said to be underway as the pair move on with their lives. But as Ruth is being inundated with messages of support from her showbiz friends, the day is sure to be a bittersweet one, but the star is keen to “put on a brave face”.
A source told Express.co.uk: “Ruth is determined to have a good birthday, it has been a tough year for her after splitting from Eamonn, and she is very aware it is her first birthday without him. But she feels like she is coming out the other side. She hasn’t heard from Eamonn yet, but she’s not really expecting to as she knows they’re both trying to move on with their lives,” as they added she is “putting on a brave face”, and “has been so touched by her friends rallying around her” to make the day as cheerful as possible.

A representative for Ruth declined to comment when approached by Express.co.uk.
Ruth previously addressed how important she thought it was to move on following the split, as she told Woman and Home Magazine: “Relationship breakdowns are very difficult, but you deal with it and have to move on. You can let yourself crumble or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.
“I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it. I’m trying to now embrace the fact I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.
“Divorce is very painful. Most don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion. But that’s the nature of my job. I’ve always had that and if you can’t cope, you shouldn’t be doing this job.”

The presenter has certainly been busy, as she has been spotted with showbiz pals Rylan Clark and Lizzie Cundy, with the trio being spotted on glamorous nights out together.
Last year, Lizzie captured Ruth and Rylan hitting the mic at his Essex abode. The duo were visual and vocal delights as they belted out the classic tune by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie, ‘Endless Love’.
The TV star has also been busy on the workfront, as she continues to host Loose Women, as well as her shopping channel on QVC.
She also been looking after her beloved mother Joan, 95, who suffered a horror fall before Christmas and spent a lengthy stint recovering in hospital.
