Kanye West’s New Song Seemingly Features Daughter North And Diddy

Ye’s newest song apparently features his 11-year-old daughter North West and the incarcerated media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Combs’ 26-year-old son Christian “King” Combs and musical artist Jasmine Williams also appear in the song from the artist formerly known as Kanye West.

Ye posted the song, “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” on X on Saturday despite Kim Kardashian, his ex-wife and the mother of his children, urging him not to.

The song, which has since been deleted from Ye’s social media but which was shared elsewhere, starts with a phone call during which a man assumed to be Combs says, “I wanna just thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man.”

“Ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call them,” he added.

“Absolutely, I love you so much man,” Ye then responds. “You raised me. Even when I ain’t know you, know what I’m saying?”

The song features a groovy R&B-like production with vocals from Williams, bars from Christian Combs, and lyrics from North West. The 11-year-old repeats the line, “When you see me shinin’, then you see the light.”

TMZ reported that Kardashian attempted to stop her ex from releasing the song by way of a cease and desist order but that Ye posted it online anyway.

TMZ also included shots of apparent text messages between Ye and Kardashian. One message, presumably from Kardashian, said she didn’t want their daughter to be included in a song with Combs “to protect her.”

The two also went back and forth about trademarking North’s name.

“I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her. So stop,” a message appearing to be from Kardashian said. “I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her. One person has to trademark!”

Ye appeared to respond: “Amend it or I’m going to war And neither of us will recover from the public fallout You’re going to have to kill me.”

Combs is incarcerated at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting a May 12 trial date for numerous charges, including sex trafficking.

For nearly a year and a half, Combs has been listed as a defendant in dozens of lawsuits accusing him of violence and sexual abuse after an ex, singer and model Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him in November 2023. A video CNN published in May showed Combs physically assaulting Ventura in a hotel hallway. Combs had denied all the allegations against him.

Ye and Kardashian — who have four children together — split up in 2021. Representatives for the two did not immediately reply to HuffPost’s request for comment.
