GTA 5 recently received a , bringing the game in line with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.

Unfortunately, however, the update hasn’t gone down well with all fans, leading to GTA 5 receiving a Mixed user score on Steam with only 57%.

Some fans have experienced problems migrating their accounts over to the new version, while others have reported problems with the game’s performance. Other issues include a lack of text chat, as well as an increase in loading screens.

has been busy trying to fix 5 Enhanced since launch, issuing multiple updates in the past week alone.

This includes a new update for March 17, which makes even more fixes for GTA 5 on PC.

As you can see from the patch notes below, the update fixes multiple issues that have resulted in crashes.

Likewise, Rockstar has fixes a problem with the frame-rates dropping while underwater and with instances of error messages appearing.

With GTA 5 Enhanced receiving a series of negative reviews, plus GTA Trilogy The Definitive Edition getting panned at launch, should fans be worried about a drop in quality for ?

Personally I’m not too worried. While Rockstar’s recent output hasn’t exactly been stellar, there’s no reason to think GTA 6 won’t be anything other than superb.

For starters, GTA Trilogy The Definitive Edition was ported to modern platforms by a different developer other than Rockstar Games, and the problems have largely been fixed since launch.

The GTA 5 Enhanced issues are more of a concern, but more for when Rockstar inevitably decides to port the upcoming sequel to PC.

Mainline Grand Theft Auto games have always been well received at launch on consoles, and with the size of the team working on the game, fingers crossed any issues will be ironed out by launch.
