Although ’s finale is face approaching, fans are certain DI Mervin Wilson (played by Don Gilet) could find the time for a special romance. The detective in Saint Marie during the Christmas special and joined the team of investigators at Honoré Police Station.
Although he first moved to the Caribbean island to learn more about his estranged mother, who gave him up for adoption as a baby, Mervin’s mother had long died. However, after some digging, the root cause of her death seemed mysterious and prompted the detective to look into her death and eventually solve her murder. While by the penultimate episode, many are convinced they’ve spotted romantic clues between Mervin and another team member.

Taking to , one suggested: “Sorry but all signs are pointing to a possible romance again, even if it’s not what we want to see.
“The chemistry they have is great as friends and hopefully stays that way but also saw some other signs towards more than friends in previous episodes. In last night’s episode it was revealed Mervin is almost 50 in the show, not 58 which is his actual age irl.
“So, one reason could be is how he was born there line up with his parents giving him away more believable or another reason the producers would do that is to make a possible romance between him and Naomi a little less weird.”

Another argued: “I don’t see any romance either. I thought the ‘chemistry’ they had was leaning into sibling territory.”
