Channel 4 Tempting Fortune’s Imani Evans breaks silence after explosive row

Imani Evans, star of Channel 4’s Tempting Fortune, has broken her silence as the latest series started with her involved in a blazing row.

In the most recent episode, viewers witnessed Imani lock horns with contestants Vicki and Sam after she openly said would happily splurge on the temptations offered.

The confrontation escalated, leading Imani to give in to the first temptation of the series, a lavish £1,200 bed for a night’s rest.

Imani reflected on her controversial tactics in the game. “It was quite horrific for me, to be honest,” she said

Discussing her early unpopularity among the competitors, Imani said: “I knew that was gonna be the case because I think when you have a lot of confidence and, and you’re able to stand alone, automatically people get their back up, especially if they don’t possess those qualities.”

Undeterred by the backlash, she said: “So I knew that I wasn’t going to be the most popular with the decisions that I was making but I didn’t care. I didn’t go on there for popularity. I went on there for an incredible experience, and I’m the type of person where if someone ruffles my feathers, I’m going to ruffle back 10 times harder,” reports .

Imani hinted that viewers should brace themselves for an explosive turn of events in the upcoming series, saying: “That’s literally the tip of the iceberg. It’s way more dramatic than that,” and added: “And me personally, I didn’t think that it could get worse because it was such a dramatic entrance. I’ve only been in the jungle for 5 minutes, and it was already fireworks.

“So I didn’t think it could get worse, but I’m not kidding when I tell you it gets 10 times worse and yes, I am involved with most of that.”

Discussing her reasons for using a hefty chunk of the £300,000 prize money, Imani said: “I said that I went in there to have an amazing experience, but also to challenge myself, and that’s exactly what I did.

“I was always gonna take some temptations, but I was also gonna turn down some temptations.

“So I feel like I was very true to myself and people will see that. Exactly what I said I was gonna do is exactly what I did throughout and then obviously, in the beginning, I was taking the temptations because I just thought, if you guys are gonna be mean to me, then I’m literally going to make you pay for it in a very literal sense.”

She added: “I have no regrets about that. I wish I’d actually spent more, to be honest.”

Imani also delved into her past stint on reality TV, saying how she was a participant in the dating show Meet the Parents, hosted by Holly Willoughby, nearly a decade ago.

“I was on a dating show which was very interesting with Holly Willoughby,” she said.

“It was called Meet the Parents. It was kind of like Blind Date but with your parents talking to the guy. It was absolutely hilarious, amazing. I didn’t end up getting the date with the guy, which I was fuming about because I just like to win.

“I didn’t really like him but I thought it would be fun to win the date.”

Tempting Fortune airs on Sundays at 9pm on Channel 4, with full series on its streaming service
