A recent episode of came to an unexpected halt when one eager buyer realised they needed to look no further for their ideal home.
In Monday’s (March 17) instalment of the favourite, presenter Ginny Buckley was determined to assist a couple in securing the perfect property in the scenic Wye Valley.
Susan, a retired radiographer, and her husband Steve, who just stepped down from his career in insurance brokerage, were keen on relocating to be nearer to relatives and, importantly, their grandchildren.
With £750,000 to spend, they sought a detached residence brimming with character, featuring a spacious kitchen and breakfast area. Their checklist included a minimum of three bedrooms, a generous garden, room for Susan’s art studio, and proximity to Bristolno more than an hour’s distanceas that’s where one of their grandchildren resides, reports .
Susan explained their motivation to move back to the countryside, saying: “I’ve always wanted to be in the countryside. What I’m hoping to do is certainly more painting, even though I can paint at home now but the countryside will inspire me more and gardening as well will be a big point.”

Steve elaborated on their dream setting, adding: “We are looking for somewhere quieter with a lot more space and openness around us and more countryside so we can go for a walk just for the sack of walking.”
Ginny pulled out all the stops, lining up a variety of potential homes for viewing. Yet, within minutes of starting the tour of the first house, it was obvious to everyone that the hunt was overthey had stumbled upon ‘the one’.
The couple was utterly smitten with a stunning property located in Mynyddbach, Monmouthshire. This four-bedroom modern detached house charmed them with its ample dual reception rooms, an inviting kitchen/breakfast area, and garden that promised potential despite needing some attention.
While standing in the garden, Susan couldn’t hide her anxiety, confessing: “I’m worried that it might be over budget because it’s perfect.”

However, Ginny had a shock in store as she announced the unexpected news, inquiring cheekily: “What would your reaction be if I actually told you it started with a 6? £680,000.”
Steve couldn’t believe it, expressing his gratitude with an astonished as he said: “Oh wow, thank you.” Susan, convinced by their find, declared confidently: “I don’t think we need to see any others.”
Nevertheless, Ginny quipped in response: “Well we have to because it’ll be a really short episode and I hate viewers to feel short-changed.”
By week’s end, it was obvious that their hearts remained with the first house they visited, leading them to arrange a second viewing.
