Many visitors to the Mediterranean country , Venice, and Naples, but there are still places in the scenic and historical nation that are yet to be explored by many avid travellers. Among the more underrated towns for tourists in Italy is Ferrara, located in the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy.

Those who are familiar with the town will know of its rich history and stunning architecture, both of which make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to the Italy of yesteryear. But if you are unfamiliar with it, you may want to consider this place for . The closest international airport to Ferrara is Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport, which is a 50-minute drive away. Things to do in Ferrara, Italy

So, is Ferarra worth visiting? Firstly, there are plenty of things to do here during a short city break. Among them is Castle of Saint Michael, located on its own island in the centre of the historic old town, dating back to the year 1200.

Meanwhile, you also have attractions such as Cathedral of Saint George, a stunning piece of old architecture, as well as the Cathedral of Saint George Museum and the Ferrara City Walls.

You should remember that Ferrara is relatively close to Bologna, so there is even the possibility of doing a day trip here from the city. However, it might be a true sunny escape to stay in this town for a few days.

As we’re in Italy, it’s no surprise that there are some options for visitors to the area. Afterall, the country is one of the foodie capitals of the world and this region is no exception. The town is home to a huge number of classic Italian restaurants serving up local favourites.
