Taking to the popular social media platform, Lynsey recently shared an insightful video where she . Demonstrating how the strategy especially works wonders on makeup stains from the likes of mascaras, lipsticks and fake tans – Lynsey can be seen successfully .

Instructing how one should simply apply the shaving foam onto the carpet, rub it in, leave it for a bit if needed and then rinse it off with a damp cloth– Lynsey has once again rendered cleaning effortless.

While it may be considered an obscure cleaning hack by some, avid home cleaners have backed up the assertions of using shaving foam as a carpet cleaning agent by presenting their own findings.

Fans of the mega popular icon Sophie Hinchliffe, also known on social media as , tried out the shaving foam hack and gave a thumbs up to the results.

With backing up claims that shaving foam is ideal for getting rid of even the toughest of stains as it breaks down grease, it seems this uber easy cleaning hack is here to stay. “The foam easily breaks down grease and other substances that cling to the carpet fibers, making them easier to remove. All you have to do is apply, allow it to sit for a few minutes, and then scrub the area dry with a clean towel.”

Ryan adds that it’s essential to use foam shaving creams and not gel or soap versions, as that might result in carpets becoming slick and sticky with the stain becoming even worse.

The scientific explanation for why shaving foam works so well on carpet stains is because it contains ingredients called surfactants, which break down the particles that are responsible for the stain.

Kevin Geick, manager at explains: “The foam texture also allows the substance to cling to the stain, keeping the cleaning agent in contact with the stain for longer, rendering better results.”
