Marc Maron Calls Comedian A ‘Bitch’ For Agreeing With ‘Some Of The Stuff Trump Is Doing’

Marc Maron is slamming Bill Maher for agreeing with President Donald Trump on “some of the things” he’s been doing in his second administration.

“Are you going to be like Bill Maher, you know, ‘I’m going to agree with some of the things that Trump is doing,’” the comedian recently said on his “WTF” podcast while chatting with his guest and former CNN host W. Kamau Bell. “It’s like, dude, you’re a bitch.”

Maron then criticized Maher for expressing commonality with Trump supporters, including Kid Rock, who recently appeared on Maher’s “Club Random” podcast as well as his HBO show “Real Time.

Mocking Maher’s voice, Maron said, “‘I like Kid Rock,’” before questioning, “And now you’re gonna blow him with a slightly disdainful look on your face? That’s who you are?”

Agreeing with Maron, Bell claimed that there’s a “whole generation of comedians who have been confused about the fact that they’re smart for comedians,” adding that they think “that means they’re smart generally.”

“I think there are a whole bunch of comedians who have been sort of heralded for their hot takes and political [insight],” Bell said during the March 10 episode. “Yeah, for a comedian you’re doing a good job but you’re not doing a good job for a person who thinks about this stuff. “

Maher, an infamous Trump hater, has also voiced pointed criticism of the left.

Last October, Maron called out comics who invite “shameless, self-proclaimed white supremacists and fascists” to be on their shows. In a blog post, he claimed the “anti-woke flank of the new fascism is being driven almost exclusively by comics, my peers.”

“Whether they are driven by the idea that what they are fighting for is a free speech issue or whether they are truly morally bankrupt racists doesn’t matter,” Maron wrote. “They are part of the public face of a fascist political movement that seeks to destroy the democratic idea.”

He added: “When comedians with podcasts have shameless, self-proclaimed white supremacists and fascists on their show to joke around like they are just entertainers or even just politicians, all it does is humanize and normalize fascism. When someone uses their platform for that reason they are facilitating anti-American sentiment and promoting violent autocracy.”
