Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven left the King Power pitch on a stretcher in a big blow for ‘s side. The 18-year-old was the star of the show in the first half on his full Premier League debut. But he appeared to roll his ankle after shepherding the ball out of play for a goalkick while under pressure from Patson Daka.

Physios from both clubs raced around the edge of the pitch to tend to the youngster and they quickly called for the stretcher. Heaven made his first start for the senior side in the midweek victory over Real Sociedad. He was not expected to be thrust into the first team so soon after joining from in January.

A United injury crisis has meant that Amorim has had no option but to throw in the teenager – and he has stepped up to the plate.

United never looked like conceding with Heaven in their back line, despite the youngster coming up against experienced forwards Jamie Vardy and Daka.

Toby Collyer replaced Heaven on the 51st minute and stepped into midfield, as Noussair Mazraoui dropped into the back three
