Neil deGrasse Tyson’s look-alike son Travis shows off his impressive math skills in rare video

Neil deGrasse Tyson’s son, Travis, takes after his father in so many ways.

In honor of Pi Day, the account for StarTalk, Tyson’s talk show and now podcast, shared an impressive video of the renowned astrophysicist’s son reciting the first 100 digits of Pi from memory.

“Travis, how many digits of Pi do you know?” Tyson asked his son in the clip.

“100 exactly,” Travis replied to his dad.

“Prove it!” Tyson said while blindfolding his son. “Go!”

While holding a Pi figurine above his head, Travis then recited all 100 digits of Pi without hesitation.

“That’s my boy!” Tyson said happily.

“Happy Pi day,” Travis added.

In the comments, people said they were impressed with Travis’ skills and that fact that he appeared to be a carbon copy of his dad.

“And i dont even remember what my phone number is,” one person joked, while another added, “The apple does not fall far from the tree!”

Other social media users seemed stuck on how much Travis looked like his dad.

“Well, we know who is going to play Neil Degrasse Tyson in his biopic movie,” a commenter wrote.

Another added, “Is this proof of time travel? Because that’s definitely your younger self in the same room with you.”

One fan simply noted, “Science said copy and paste.”

Travis is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School and NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study with a concentration in political psychology and social justice, per his bio on Big Sib Tutors.

In 2023, Travis made his TV debut when he joined the Season 2 cast of “Claim to Fame.” However, Travis didn’t last long in the series as he was eliminated in the second episode when someone rightfully guessed that Tyson was his father.

Due to his elimination, the show played a video that Travis’ dad made for him.
