Jane McDonald returned to television with the latest episode of her Channel 5 travel series, Jane McDonald’s Florida, on Saturday, 15 March.
This instalment followed her on a road trip through Florida, visiting destinations such as Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, the Florida Keys, and Miami. During her time in the Florida Keys, she participated in various activities, including boat trips and paragliding.
In one memorable scene, Jane overcame her initial hesitation to swim with a manatee, an experience she later expressed gratitude for. She shared her thoughts with viewers, saying: “I’m really glad I took the plunge and I did that. Sometimes I think, ‘am I going to be alright?’
“You know, because I’m nearly 40 now. And then I get in, and I have the time of my life,” she laughed.

She continued: “And I think this is what we forget. Life is about making memories. It doesn’t matter what age you are. Just get in the water, as cold as it is, and come face to face with a manatee. Because, it is something you will never ever forget.”
