The 65-year-old broadcaster, who has been battling with chronic pain and mobility issues since undergoing surgery in 2022, took to social media to thank those who have supported his work with The Foundation.

Alongside a photo, he wrote: “Thanking everyone and saying Goodbye to some of the people who help in our work at The Foundation and around The Club …. Even though we can’t see you Jan.” While the message was directed at colleagues, some followers couldn’t help but express concern for the celeb, especially after he recently admitted he is “always in pain”. Yesterday Eamonn shared an , writing: “Even when The Sun shines there’s pain. Sometimes I feel I’ll never beat this disc immobility but I’m determined to have a life. Following surgery for a slipped disc in 2022 and a double hip replacement in 2016, he now relies on a wheelchair and has acknowledged that he may never walk again.

While facing his health challenges, Eamonn has also been navigating big changes in his personal life. Last year, fans were shocked when he separated from his wife of 14 years, .

Meanwhile Ruth has remained single since the split, and is reportedly thinking about throwing a party to celebrate when her divorce is finalised.

A source told Heat Magazine: “‘Ruth has said ‘life begins after divorce’ and has toasted the New Year’s exciting new opportunities and being free from Eamonn.

“On the receipt of her being a free woman, she is going to throw a party. Her best pals have confirmed that she is on the up, while she’s left Eamonn spitting feathers in her wake.”
