Reigning women’s world champion Beau Greaves may not be at Alexandra Palace at the end of the year, having skipped five events in Germany this weekend. She made waves at the UK Open, becoming the first female player in history to reach the fourth round before going down to .
Humphries recognised Greaves’ talent, . They then did to feature in the sooner rather than later.
Greaves is one of the sport’s top talents, though she has never played in the . In previous years, the 21-year-old has opted to compete for the women’s crown. She has done so successfully, winning in 2022, 2023 and 2024, but would have to forgo competing this year if she wants to compete alongside Humphries and in London.
But Greaves may not get the opportunity to qualify either now, having pulled out of the second tournament weekend of the Challenge Tour. She is the current leader on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit after winning two tournaments in January, with the top two finishers receiving an Ally Pally invite and a PDC Tour card for the next two seasons.

She could be usurped from the top of the table if performances from the leading pack go against her.
Greaves still would likely be given a tour card due to her performances on the Development Tour, where she leads the Order of Merit by 1,800 points. The top two on the Development Tour at the end of the season get the opportunity to compete at PDC events.
Greaves might not be at Ally Pally at the end of the year even though she is becoming one of most recognisable faces, but there is no certainty that she would accept any invitation if one were to be extended.
She would have to forgo retaining her WDF world title, and snubbed the chance to play last year, explaining: “It’s a shame they make you choose. I don’t understand that.
“I don’t know why they do. I think it’s stupid. I wouldn’t go on and win Ally Pally. I’d give it a good crack and see if I played well. But, ultimately, I want to be a ladies’ world champion and we’ll see if I can do that again in December.”
Greaves did attempt to earn a tour card in January via Q-School, but she was defeated in the second round.
