Netflix’s “hilariously unhinged” murder mystery, The Perfect Couple, is reportedly set for a second season, but with an entirely new cast.
The six-part series, based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel of the same name, revolves around a luxurious wedding that is abruptly disrupted by a murder.
The first season boasted a star-studded cast including Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Eve Hewson, Meghann Fahy and Dakota Fanning.
Variety reports that plans to adapt another book from Hilderbrand’s Nantucket-based series, with The Bear co-showrunner Joanna Calo slated to supervise the next chapter.
Nicole Kidman, a star of the first season, is expected to serve as executive producer, with insiders revealing to the publication that aims to “go the anthology route” with the series, reports .

While casting details remain under wraps, there’s buzz about a potential crossover, as the character Ed Kapenash from Swan Song was rebranded as Dan Carter in The Perfect Couple, portrayed by Michael Beach.
The Perfect Couple became an instant favourite among audiences after its September 2024 release, despite receiving a mixed bag of critiques.
